However Deepak Naik, managing director Eisai Pharmaceuticals India stated clearly that Eisai sees India not only as a marketing set-up but also a sourcing hub and would like to do some of its development work in the country.

Eisai currently has centres for clinical trials located at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, the Shri Chitra Hospital in Kerala and a third centre located at Ahmedabad in India. With India emerging as hub for clinical trials, Eisai is keen on a clinical trials arm in India.
