A company was setting up an offshore
development centre (ODC) in Pune. The ODC was to replace
its existing setup in UK, which was to be discontinued by
June 2001. It was essential that the ODC was operational
in the beginning of April to have about 3 months for stabilisation
and synchronisation between UK office and the Pune ODC.
The client first visited Pune around the end of January
and identified a few properties. By the middle of February,
the property was finalised. At that time, the office had
just four corners and did not even have flooring tiles.
We project managed the ODC in a manner that within 7 weeks,
the office was ready for operations and it was inaugurated
on 2nd April as planned. Simultaneously, all the legal and
regulatory compliances were carried out and all the permissions
/ licences were also obtained.
